What is Yahoo Towers?

Back in the late 90's to early 2000’s, in the old days of 56k dial up connection –

When we wanted to entertain ourselves, we’d boot up the Compaq Presario and immerse ourselves in the golden age of casual internet gaming - Yahoo.com games.

There was this one game that really caught my attention – Yahoo! Towers: Screenshot of Yahoo Towers.

Yahoo! Towers was an online multiplayer puzzle game available on Yahoo! Games that debuted in December of ‘99. It was similar to Tetris but fierce. Players would stack falling blocks of matching colors, which would then clear those blocks. The goal was to outlast opponents by preventing your stack from reaching the top while strategically sending obstacles to them. The blocks spelled out Yahoo! and when you hit them in a row, dopamine would fire off on all cylinders.
